Kelly McParland: Toronto, the workers paradise where nothing works
Friday, 03 July 2009

Toronto at the moment is a shining example of a major city operating along leftwing principles. Nothing works. It's a workers' paradise, paradise in this case being a place where you no longer have to do your job. The services that two million people have paid for aren't being delivered,
because two city unions can't get what they want and are on strike. The interests of the majority are subverted to the demands of a small, privileged minority. It's the Family Compact in reverse. The unions, ultra-conservative in their left-wing zeal, resist change at all costs. They want a world...( Full story from source site)

Server issues
Thursday, 02 July 2009 16:26
Grassroots Voice was down most of the day due to server load issues with my provider. I'm trying to resolve the issues now to prevent the same from happening in the future.

Work is progressing well on the site regarding content. I now have 38 RSS feeds pulling content related to Ontario politics, political issues and commentary. I'm trying to draw from the widest variety of sources possible across the Province. Some of the smaller town papers and news sources don't have RSS feeds, or the feeds are very limited. I'm working on a couple of solutions to include their content.

Once I have the content nailed down the next thing on the list will be tweaking the look and feel of the site, followed by automating the whole process through keywords and filters.

Suggestions for news sources, features or anything else are always welcome.
